A Slice of Love

I want to talk about apples. I love apples and have enjoyed them my entire life. Did you know they are mostly made up of water?

They come in so many different sizes—extra large to very small. And, there’s such a wide range of varieties, colors, and textures. Apples are also varied in their tastes—some extremely sweet, others tart (they need a little sugar), a few are pithy, there are bold types and others that are super mellow. As they age, the skin of apples may wrinkle a bit, but the insides are often still in tact.

Apples are unique on their exterior, however, they carry the same interiors as all other apples—with a core, flesh, and seeds for the future.

How apples are handled also has an impact—those that are dropped or squeezed too hard can become damaged causing bruising, blemishes, and scars. Choosing to care for and treat apples properly ensures healthier outcomes for hearts, brains, and even overall well-being.

Even though sometimes I find one that’s gone bad, and is infecting those in close proximity, I won’t give up on all apples because of a few rotten ones.

Apples remain my favorite. How about you?

I want to talk about people. I love people and have enjoyed them my entire life. Did you know they are mostly made up of water?
